Drew Maloney is a filmmaker and photographer from Long Island’s south shore. Growing up surfing and clamming, he developed an early connection to the ocean-one that continues to shape his work.
His career spans documentary, commercial, and editorial projects. He worked as a Flame Artist at The Mill NY until 2020, spending over five years on major commercial and Super Bowl campaigns for brands like Bud Light, Lincoln, Ford, Target, Volkswagen, and Verizon. Working under senior artists and creative directors in the post-production industry helped sharpen his creative eye.
His first film, Breaking Water (2014) explored illegal fishing in Mozambique and caught the attention of Nat Geo TV. His follow-up, Time & Tide (2017), was selected for the Save The Waves film circuit. In 2024, his film Hometown Hype for The Inertia placed second in audience voting, and his latest documentary, Farther (2024), premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival, with his photography for the film also featured in The New York Times.
As a DP and director, he has led campaigns for Faherty, Farrow & Ball, AriZona Beverages, Fair Harbor, and more. With a calm and thoughtful approach, he crafts visually compelling narratives that feel both authentic and intentional.
What most attracts clients to Drew is his dedication to his craft, attention to detail, and passion for visual storytelling.
